The Maldives government has announced a 15-day holiday period, including the last 10 days of Ramadan and the entire week of Eid al-Fitr, allowing citizens to observe religious duties and spend time with their families without interruptions.

The holiday period, which starts from March 20, will include March 31, April 1, 2, and 3, depending on the announcement by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. This decision was made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to promote Islamic principles and give people the opportunity to prioritize religious matters during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Government offices will reopen on April 6, 2025, after the Eid holidays. The Maldives government has declared extended public holidays for Eid al-Fitr, with the directive of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, allowing for uninterrupted time for religious observance and family celebrations. Essential government services will continue to operate during the extended holiday period.

The decision is in line with the President's policy of promoting Islamic practices and giving the public time for religious duties. The extended holiday period will provide citizens with ample time to celebrate Eid al-Fitr and spend quality time with their loved ones, fostering a sense of community and togetherness during this significant religious occasion.
