The federal government has announced Eid and spring holidays for federal educational institutions, with schools and colleges to remain closed from March 31 to April 4, and the new academic session will commence on April 7. The State Bank of Pakistan has also announced a three-day holiday from March 31 to April 2, 2025, on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The notification applies to all federal government schools and colleges across the country, providing students and staff with a well-deserved break. The Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is expected to fall on March 31 or April 1, depending on the sighting of the moon. The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will sight the moon of Shawwal, marking the end of Ramazan.

To facilitate passengers traveling before and after Eidul Fitr, Pakistan Railways will run four special trains. The holiday announcement comes as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted a good chance of sighting the new moon on March 30. The date of the holiday will be confirmed after the moon sighting on March 30.

Eidul Fitr is a significant festival in the Islamic lunar calendar, celebrated at the conclusion of Ramazan. The three-day holiday from March 31 to April 2 will provide an opportunity for people to celebrate with their loved ones and observe the traditions and customs associated with this joyous occasion.
