Eid Holidays 2025 UAE: Public Sector Gets 4-6 Day Break
The UAE's public sector holiday schedule is expected to be followed by the private sector, although no official announcement has been made, and the Maldives' extended holiday period will provide citizens with ample time for religious and family celebrations, with essential services remaining operational throughout.

The UAE government has announced Eidul Fitr holidays for the public sector, with a 4-6 day break, depending on the moon sighting on March 29, and government employees resuming work on 4 Shawwal, while the private sector's holiday schedule remains unannounced but is expected to follow a similar pattern.
The Eidul Fitr holidays for the public sector will start on 1 Shawwal and end on 3 Shawwal, with the possibility of an additional holiday on 30 Ramadan if the moon is not spotted, resulting in a 30-day Ramadan. The holiday period will allow government employees to observe the religious festivities and spend time with their families. Some employees in Sharjah will get a 6-day holiday, starting from Friday, March 28.
In contrast, the Maldives government has announced an extended public holiday for Eid al-Fitr, granting citizens a full week off, from March 31 to April 3, under the directive of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The holiday period will enable uninterrupted time for religious observance and family celebrations. Essential government services will continue to operate during the extended holiday period.
The Eid holidays in the UAE and Maldives will provide a welcome break for residents, allowing them to recharge and celebrate the festive occasion with their loved ones. The exact dates of the holidays will depend on the sighting of the new moon, which will be announced closer to the time.
