Pakistan is expected to observe a week-long school holiday period for Eidul Fitr 2025, with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee set to confirm the sighting of the Shawwal moon on March 30, determining the exact duration of the holidays.

The holiday period is potentially scheduled to start on March 29 and end on April 6, depending on the moon sighting. If the moon is sighted on March 30, the holidays will last five days, from March 31 to April 2. However, if the moon is not visible on March 30, Ramadan will extend to 30 days, pushing the holidays to start on April 1 and last until April 3, potentially extending the break to six days.

In a similar move, Libya's Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has declared an extended school holiday until the end of Eid al-Fitr celebrations, starting from Sunday, March 16. The Ministry of Education has been directed to adjust the academic calendar accordingly, and the premier praised students, teachers, and parents for maintaining the study schedule throughout Ramadan.

The decision to extend school holidays during Eidul Fitr is a welcome move for students, teachers, and parents, allowing them to observe the festive occasion and spend quality time with their loved ones. The exact duration of the holidays in Pakistan will be confirmed after the moon sighting on March 30.
