Punjab has announced a nine-day Eidul Fitr holiday for schools, allowing students and teachers to celebrate the festival before the new academic year begins, with Eidul Fitr likely to fall on March 31, 2025.
The holiday period, which starts on March 28, will give students and teachers ample time to prepare for the festivities and spend quality time with their families. Government schools are expected to reopen on April 7, while annual results will be declared on April 4. The likelihood of moon sighting on March 30, 2025, in Pakistan is high, according to the Pakistan's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), which means Ramazan will complete in 29 days.
The federal government has already declared a three-day holiday for Eidul Fitr from March 31 to April 2, and the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will sight the moon of Shawwal on March 30. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has also predicted a good chance of sighting the new moon on the same day.
