Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall have hit various parts of the country, with Rawalpindi and Islamabad experiencing over 60mm of rainfall on Saturday night, prompting authorities to deploy heavy machinery to drain rainwater and mitigate potential flooding.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rain across different regions, warning of strong winds and shifting weather patterns. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including cities like Peshawar, is expected to receive rainfall, while Punjab cities may face strong dust-laden winds. Scattered showers are forecast for many districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with temperatures ranging from 27°C to 38°C.

In addition to the rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning have also been reported in upper areas, including Upper Dir, Swat, and Hazara Division. Sindh is expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by dust storms, while Balochistan is forecast to remain predominantly dry and hot with temperature highs reaching up to 47°C. The National Disaster Management Authority has advised residents in AJK and GB to take precautions due to expected flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, Karachi is expected to experience mostly cloudy and humid weather from June 22-24, with a possibility of drizzle during morning and night hours. Maximum temperature is expected to range between 33-35°C, with southwest winds over the Arabian Sea contributing to humid conditions. Other parts of Sindh may experience hot and dry weather, with some areas possibly seeing light rain or drizzle.
