Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for several regions, including Karachi, forecasting windstorms, dust storms, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms from May 8-12, with potential damage to infrastructure due to strong winds and lightning.

The advisory warns of partly cloudy weather with chances of thunderstorms and rain in certain districts of Sindh, while Karachi will be humid and partly cloudy with temperatures between 34-38°C. The Met Office has forecasted rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy falls and hail, in Kashmir, northern and eastern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast and southern Balochistan, and southeast Sindh on Thursday and Friday.

Rain accompanied with gusty winds lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Thursday, with the Met Office forecasting the wet spell to continue till May 11. The rain brought down the temperature to 29 degrees Celsius, causing a slushy mess on the roads and making it difficult for people to commute. The Met Office recorded significant rainfall in various areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

In Karachi, hot and humid weather will persist for the next 24 hours, with temperatures ranging from 35-37°C. The city's peripheral regions are likely to witness wind and thunderstorms. Authorities advise residents, particularly in vulnerable areas, to remain cautious and monitor weather updates for potential windstorms and flash flooding.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates to ensure their safety and well-being. The Pakistan Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide updates as necessary.
