Weather in Karachi Remains Stable Amid Cyclone Threat
The cyclonic system's movement is being closely monitored, and the PMD has warned fishermen and residents in coastal areas to remain vigilant. The weather in Karachi is expected to remain stable, but residents in other parts of the country should be prepared for unstable weather conditions.

A low-pressure system in the eastern Arabian Sea is intensifying, with the met office predicting it could develop into a strong depression within 24 hours, potentially becoming cyclone 'Shakti' if it reaches Indian waters, but it poses no threat to the Pakistani coastline.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued twin weather alerts as the cyclonic system, located 985km southeast of Karachi, is expected to develop into a depression due to conducive atmospheric conditions. The system is currently tracking northward towards India, and the PMD has warned of unstable weather in upper and central regions of the country.
The Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum has warned fishermen to avoid the open sea due to high tides and the system's potential proximity to Karachi and Sindh's coastal areas. However, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain stable, with no immediate threat from the cyclonic system. Meanwhile, the PMD has forecast dust storms, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms in areas including Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi from May 23 evening to May 24.
The PMD has also forecast rain and thunderstorms for parts of Balochistan and southern Punjab on May 24. The met office will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the cyclonic system's movement and potential impact on the region.
