Karachi Weather Forecast: Heavy Rains Bring Relief And Chaos
The monsoon rains have commenced in Punjab, with the first spell expected to last till July 1, and the PDMA has predicted 25% more monsoon rains this year, highlighting the need for citizens to be prepared and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.

Sindh was hit by pre-monsoon showers on Thursday and Friday, bringing relief from intense heat but also causing power outages, drainage issues, and human casualties, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting more heavy rainfall in the city and raising concerns about flash floods and landslides.
The heavy downpour caused widespread power outages, with dozens of trees and transmission poles falling, and water entering homes and markets in several towns. In Hyderabad, the city's drainage system failed, leading to urban flooding, and several areas were inundated with knee-deep water. The incident also resulted in the collapse of a seminary roof in Tando Jam, killing two children and injuring 11 others.
Karachi experienced moderate to heavy showers on Saturday as the first monsoon spell is expected, with areas such as KDA, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir, and Defence Housing Authority receiving heavy rains. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy rainfall in the city, with a westerly weather system moving over the western regions of the country, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall to most parts of Sindh.
At least 14 people have died in rain-related incidents in Punjab over the past four days, with two more deaths reported on Saturday. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported 28 incidents of wall and roof collapses, with nine out of 12 lives lost due to torrential rains. The PDMA has issued directives to provide medical assistance to the injured and financial aid to their relatives, and has advised citizens to avoid non-essential travel during inclement weather conditions.
As the monsoon season commences, citizens are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest Karachi weather forecast to ensure their safety and well-being. The authorities are working to mitigate the effects of the heavy rainfall and provide relief to those affected, with the PDMA predicting 25% more monsoon rains this year.
