Eid ul Fitr 2025 is expected to take place on either Sunday, March 30th or Monday, March 31st, depending on the sighting of the moon, with the State Bank of Pakistan announcing a three-day public holiday from March 31 to April 2, 2025.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on March 30 to sight the Shawwal moon, determining the official end of Ramadan. The Islamic calendar follows the lunar cycle, causing dates to shift forward approximately 11 days each year relative to the Gregorian calendar. The Pakistan Meteorological Department and the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission predict that the moon of Shawwal 1446 AH is likely to be sighted on the evening of March 30, marking the beginning of Eidul Fitr on March 31.

Ramadan is divided into three 10-day sections, known as Ashras, each with a specific prayer or supplication and activities linked to that phase. The final ten days of Ramadan are particularly significant, as they include Laylat ul Qadr, also known as the Night of Power or Night of Destiny, which marks the first revelation of the Qur'an to Muhammad.

As the nation prepares for Eidul Fitr, the government has declared a three-day public holiday, allowing citizens to celebrate with their families and loved ones. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee's announcement on March 30 will confirm the Eid celebrations date nationwide.
