The National Weather Forecasting Center (NWFC) has issued a warning of heavy rains and snowfall in Pakistan's northern regions, affecting western and upper parts of the country, with the advisory forecasting a westerly wave that will impact the upper regions for 36-48 hours. The warning includes moderate to heavy snowfall in areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Manshera, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli.
The forecast also highlights the risk of landslides and avalanches in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, advising travelers and tourists to stay cautious, while the dry weather will prevail in most districts of Sindh, but light rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Larkana and Sukkur on March 2 and 3.
