Updated :

A powerful westerly weather system is expected to bring rain and snow to various parts of the country, starting from February 17, with Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan likely to be impacted, while Karachi will experience partially cloudy skies with no rain forecasted.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rain for several cities in Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and interior Punjab, starting from February 18, which is expected to bring relief after weeks of dry weather and improve air quality. The pollen count in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain high, with an increase in pollen levels expected during this period.

The meteorological department has advised residents to be prepared for potential weather changes and take necessary precautions, as the system is expected to reduce dry and dusty conditions while increasing humidity. Snowfall is predicted in mountainous areas, including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Khuzdar, while moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in several regions.

Punjab is expected to receive good rainfall between February 19-21, particularly in southern and central areas, with hailstorms possible in some areas. Islamabad and its surroundings may see two to three rain spells during this period, providing relief from the dry spell. However, Karachi weather will remain dry, with partially cloudy skies expected.

The expected rain and snow are likely to have a positive impact on the environment, easing the impact of the dry spell and improving air quality. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecast and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
