Lahore Development Projects Worth Rs12 Billion Approved
The approved projects are expected to significantly improve the infrastructure and quality of life in Lahore, with a focus on road development, conservation, and security, and will contribute to the overall growth and development of the province, with the government aiming to complete the projects in a timely manner.

The Punjab government has approved five major development projects worth over Rs12 billion, focusing on road infrastructure, wildlife conservation, and inter-provincial security, with the largest allocation of Rs6.946 billion for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of GT Road from Quaid-i-Azam Interchange to Wagah Border in Lahore.
Other projects include revamping Lahore Zoo with an allocation of Rs2.039 billion and construction of three Inter-Provincial Joint Check Posts (IPJCPs) in Punjab, including Attock Khurd, Dajal, and Ghazi Ghat, with allocations of Rs1.009 billion, Rs1.188 billion, and Rs885.124 million respectively. The government has accelerated development work in the province, with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approving the release of Rs. 40 billion for Lahore's development.
The development projects also include upgrades to the health sector, with 1,250 basic and rural health centers upgraded, 1,200 dispensaries established, and 432 health projects completed. The "Apni Chhat Apna Ghar" housing scheme has also seen progress, with 80 houses completed within four months. In agriculture, Rs. 50 billion were disbursed through the Kisan Card, and Rs. 9.5 billion were allocated for the tube well scheme.
The province's development budget has increased from Rs. 882 billion to Rs. 1,048 billion, with Rs. 693 billion released and Rs. 401 billion spent. A total of 547 development schemes are in progress, including 81 special projects by the Chief Minister, 815 general projects, and 3,007 district-level schemes, marking a significant step forward in the development of Lahore and the province as a whole.
