PMD Forecasts Cold Weather with Rain and Snow in Pakistan
The cold and dry weather is expected to persist in most parts of the country, with some areas receiving rain and snow. The PMD has forecasted a significant drop in temperature, with freezing conditions expected in hilly areas. Citizens are advised to stay warm and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the cold weather.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted cold and dry weather in different parts of the country, with freezing temperatures expected in hilly areas during morning and night hours, and rain expected in Punjab from February 19.
The lowest recorded temperatures on Thursday were -11 degrees Celsius in Leh, -6 degrees Celsius in Kalam, -4 degrees Celsius in Gopis and Astore, and -3 degrees Celsius in Malam Jabba and Bagrot. Cold and partly cloudy weather with intermittent light rain and snow is forecasted for tourist regions, including Gilgit, Hunza Valley, Skardu, Chitral, Dir, Kalam, Malam Jabba, and Naran Kaghan, from Friday to Tuesday.
In Ziarat, cold and dry conditions are anticipated over the next few days, with intermittent light rain and snow expected from Sunday to Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lahore is expected to see rainfall on February 19, with the minimum temperature recorded at 10°C and the maximum expected to reach 24°C. Karachi has seen a rise in temperatures, but weather experts warn of foggy conditions and limited visibility over the weekend.
Rain and snowfall are expected to persist in Upper and Lower Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Khyber, and Kurram districts. The temperature in these areas is expected to drop, with some parts seeing up to 17 inches of snowfall. Murree is expected to be the coldest location, with temperatures dropping to -2°C at night.
Major urban centers like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan will see minimum temperatures between 8°C and 11°C, while southern Punjab will have humidity levels ranging from 8°C to 11°C. The PMD has advised citizens to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the cold weather, especially in areas expected to receive heavy snowfall.
