Weather Forecast: Heatwave Returns to Maharashtra
Maharashtra braces for heatwave return with rising temperatures, while isolated rain expected in northeastern states, according to the latest weather forecast.

After a brief respite from the heat, Maharashtra is bracing for a return of the heatwave, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a 2-3°C rise in minimum temperature and an increase in maximum temperature across the state.
Mumbai's day temperatures dipped marginally on Monday, with the maximum temperature recorded by the IMD Santacruz observatory at 33.8 degrees, 2.2 degrees above normal. However, this relief is expected to be short-lived, as the IMD forecast predicts mainly clear skies with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be around 33 degrees and 20 degrees on January 28.
The cold wave that had been prevailing in the state has receded, leading to a shift in weather patterns, with rising temperatures marking a change from chilly mornings and warm afternoons. Minimum temperatures dropped in most parts of the state, but the heatwave persists with slight rises in maximum temperatures. Meanwhile, isolated rain is expected to impact Arunachal, Assam, West Bengal, and Sikkim on January 28, according to weather forecasts.
As the heatwave returns to Maharashtra, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe, including staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak sun hours. The IMD will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide updates on any changes in the forecast.
