Heavy rainfall is forecasted across several states in India until July 18, with states like Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Odisha, Goa, and Gujarat expected to receive heavy rains, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has issued weather warnings for various states, including northwest, east, central, west, and northeast India, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in several regions. A red alert has been issued in parts of Madhya Pradesh, while a yellow alert has been issued in several regions of the state, including the NCR region.

Delhi is expected to receive light rain with thunderstorms and lightning, with the IMD issuing a Yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, predicting light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds. The city witnessed heavy rains on July 14 evening, causing traffic jams and waterlogging in several areas, with the highest cumulative rainfall recorded at Lodi Road with 18.5 mm, while Pragati Maidan received 24.3 mm of rain.

The continuous spells of rain over the next few days are expected to bring relief from the heat, but also pose a risk of waterlogging and traffic disruptions in several areas, prompting residents to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecast.
