Benazir Income Support Achieves 99% Enrollment Target

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Punjab has successfully enrolled 238,673 children in the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Programme, reaching 99% of its target in the second quarter of 2025, with the aim of promoting education among underprivileged children.

The programme provides monthly stipends to children from underprivileged families, with boys receiving Rs 2,000-4,000 and girls receiving Rs 2,500-4,500, along with a graduation bonus of Rs 3,000 for girls completing primary school. This initiative is a core component of BISP, Pakistan's flagship social safety programme, focused on poverty alleviation and empowerment of marginalized communities.

In the second quarter of 2025, BISP Punjab enrolled 196,648 children at the primary level, 38,386 at the secondary level, and 3,639 at the higher secondary level. BISP officials have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the programme's reach and enhancing monitoring mechanisms to ensure consistent school attendance, highlighting the importance of education in uplifting marginalized communities.
