The programme provides a quarterly stipend of Rs 13,500 to eligible families, which is aimed at uplifting women financially and giving them autonomy to lead empowered lives. This initiative is in line with the vision of late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who championed the cause of women's empowerment and social welfare.
To ensure the programme's effectiveness, registration is done through a biometric survey every two years. BISP officials have also urged beneficiaries to only trust messages from 8171 and report any concerns through the official helpline or website, to prevent any potential misuse or misinformation.
