Punjab has made a significant breakthrough in education, enrolling 1.1 million out-of-school children in a short span, following a series of decisions made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, including the outsourcing of over 11,000 government schools.

The Chief Minister appreciated the Education Minister for the successful enrollment of 1.1 million children under the Punjab Education Foundation, a historic feat that reflects the government's commitment to improving education in the province. The outsourcing of government schools has led to a massive increase in student enrollment, with plans in place to provide basic facilities, construct new classrooms, and repair dilapidated school buildings.

The School Management Council has been directed to provide necessary facilities in schools worth Rs 10 billion within 90 days and build required classrooms in all schools within a year. Additionally, the Chief Minister has set a target of providing spoken English training to 500,000 students and expanding the School Meal Programme to other districts. The construction of the Nawaz Sharif School of Eminence for girls and boys in every district and the upgrade of 1,750 schools in five years are also part of the plans.

The record enrollment of out-of-school children is a major achievement for the Punjab government, and the plans to improve education infrastructure and provide additional facilities will likely have a positive impact on the province's education sector. The Chief Minister's directives to the School Management Council and the Education Minister are expected to drive further progress in education in Punjab.
