Benazir Income Support Programme Expands with ADB Collaboration
The Benazir Income Support Programme, with the support of the Asian Development Bank, is working towards providing skill training, promoting non-formal education, and enhancing employment opportunities for deserving households, thereby contributing to the overall economic development of Pakistan.

A delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) headquarters to review the status of the Integrated Social Protection Development Program (ISPDP) and its Additional Financing program, highlighting the long-standing collaboration between the two entities since 2013.
The meeting between ADB representatives and BISP Secretary Amer Ali Ahmad underscored the progress of various social protection initiatives and the positive impact of ADB's support on millions of vulnerable households in Pakistan. The discussion reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to inclusive growth and their readiness to explore further cooperation in advancing social protection efforts.
Chairperson of BISP, Senator Rubina Khalid, met with ADB's Principal Social Protection Specialist, Ms. Xin Long, to discuss the provision of employment opportunities through skill training and promotion of non-formal education for deserving households. The meeting covered crucial topics including maternal and child health, nutrition measures, and educational stipends for school-going children of beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of holistic support for vulnerable populations.
Senator Khalid stressed the significance of providing non-formal education and skill training aligned with international demands to improve the economic conditions of deserving individuals. She also highlighted the importance of international certifications for employment opportunities abroad, which can open up new avenues for economic empowerment.
