Benazir Income Support Programme Empowers Marginalized Communities
The Benazir Income Support Programme has improved the lives of millions of people in Pakistan, providing them with access to education, healthcare, and financial assistance. With its innovative approaches and commitment to empowering marginalized communities, the BISP is a shining example of a successful social welfare program.

Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), has emphasized the program's commitment to delivering services with dignity, transparency, and efficiency, aiming to empower marginalized communities in Pakistan.
The BISP has restored the identity and dignity of marginalized women in the country and has improved birth registration rates. The program designates women as the head of households, a progressive step that distinguishes it from other programs. Additionally, BISP has expanded its services in Balochistan, raising the Proxy Means Test (PMT) score threshold for accessing Benazir Nashonuma and Education Stipend Programs from 32 to 60.
The program has also launched the Benazir Skills Programme to equip beneficiaries and their family members with vocational and market-relevant skills. Furthermore, BISP has introduced a new banking model for digital payments through partnerships with six major banks, ensuring transparent and dignified disbursement of aid. The quarterly Kafaalat installment has been increased from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500, benefiting thousands of families across the country.
As the BISP continues to grow and expand its services, it is essential to recognize the program's impact on marginalized communities in Pakistan. With its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and dignity, the BISP is an exemplary model for social welfare programs, not only in Pakistan but also internationally.
