Pakistan has assumed the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of July, with a strong emphasis on resolving long-standing conflicts and promoting peaceful dispute resolution. Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the country's Permanent Representative to the UN, has underscored the need for dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for human rights in counterterrorism efforts.

During its presidency, Pakistan will chair the UN Industrial Development Board (UNIDO) session in Geneva and work closely with other UNSC members to address global challenges. Ambassador Ahmad has called on the UNSC to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, condemning Israeli military attacks on aid-seeking civilians.
