Eid ul Adha 2025 Pakistan Moon Sighting Confirmed
The decision was made after a thorough examination of the moon's visibility, and the committee's announcement has brought clarity to the Eidul Azha celebrations in Pakistan, allowing citizens to prepare for the festival on June 7.

Pakistan's Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that Eidul Azha will be celebrated on June 7, after the Zilhaj moon was not sighted on May 27, due to persistent dusty conditions in the region.
The committee's meeting, attended by officials and experts, was held in Islamabad's Kohsar Block, where Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, RHC Chairman, stated that no testimony of moon sighting was received from any part of the country. This led to a consensus decision to declare Zilhaj 1 on May 29 and Eidul Azha on June 7. The announcement was made despite Suparco's earlier prediction that Eidul Azha would likely be celebrated on June 7.
Moon-sighting experts from Suparco had already indicated that the chances of spotting the crescent were "next to none" due to the moon's age and weather conditions. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee received no credible reports of moon visibility from zonal committees in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, resulting in the decision to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on June 7.
The confirmation of the moon sighting has been delayed due to the persistent dusty conditions in the region, but the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has made the final decision, with the chairman announcing that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 7, a day after Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which confirmed the first day of Eidul Azha to be on June 6.
