The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee is set to meet in Islamabad on May 27 to sight the Zilhaj moon, marking the beginning of Eidul Azha, with Eid-ul-Adha likely to be celebrated on June 7, according to Suparco's calculations.

The committee, led by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, will confirm the sighting of the crescent moon, which determines the start of the holy month of Dhul Hijjah and the Hajj pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Hajj pilgrimage is a fundamental obligation for every financially and physically able Muslim, and it is a profound spiritual awakening.

The Saudi government has made extensive preparations for the massive influx of pilgrims, with the Grand Mosque capable of hosting up to 203,000 worshippers and the Mataf area surrounding the Kaaba able to accommodate 107,000 pilgrims per hour. Safety is a top priority, with the Saudi Interior Ministry warning against performing Hajj without a valid permit and imposing severe penalties for violating this rule.

Eid-ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is celebrated worldwide by Muslims with prayers, charity, and symbolic Qurbani, and marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage. The pilgrimage is a five-day ritual rooted in the lives of the Prophet Ibrahim and the Prophet Muhammad, and is a journey into the self, about shedding ego, embracing humility, and rediscovering what it means to belong to something greater than oneself.

As millions prepare for this sacred experience, the message of Hajj remains timeless: faith unites us, humility elevates us, and in worship, we find profound peace. With the approach of Eid-ul-Adha 2025, Muslims around the world are eagerly anticipating the celebration of this significant occasion.
