Ramadan Moon Pakistan Sighting Expected
The predicted start of Ramadan on March 2 in Pakistan and March 1 in Saudi Arabia is based on scientific assessments and astronomical calculations, with the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee set to make the official announcement after examining testimonies from across the country, as Muslims prepare for a month of spiritual renewal and reflection.

Pakistan's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has forecasted that the holy month of Ramazan will begin on March 2, with Eidul Fitr expected to be observed on March 31, based on scientific assessments and astronomical calculations.
The forecast is based on modern observational data, taking into account factors such as the moon's age, angular separation from the sun, altitude at sunset, and atmospheric conditions. According to Suparco, the moon will not be visible on February 28, but it will be visible on March 2, marking the beginning of Ramazan in Pakistan.
In contrast, Saudi Arabia is expected to start Ramadan on March 1, as the new moon is expected to be visible on February 28. The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will formally announce the start of the holy month after examining testimonies from across the country. The month of Ramadan is significant in Islam, marking the time when the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, and is a time of spiritual renewal, reflection, and charity.
The Ramadan moon sighting has been predicted to occur on the same day in India, Saudi Arabia, and other countries, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Moon Sighting Committees announcing that the crescent will be sighted on Friday, February 28, 2025. If the moon is sighted, Taraweeh prayers will begin on the same night, and fasting will start from March 1.
The official commencement of Ramadan will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after examining testimonies from across the country, and Eid ul Fitr is predicted to be observed on March 31 in Pakistan, marking the end of the holy month of Ramazan.
