Islamabad Weather Brings Relief to Sindh and Punjab
The expected weather conditions will bring moderate relief from the prevailing heatwave in Karachi and parts of Sindh, while also bringing wind, thunderstorm, and rain to upper and central parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A western weather system is expected to ease the heatwave in Karachi and parts of Sindh, with temperatures ranging between 34-36°C and humidity levels reaching 50-60% in the evening. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted wind, thunderstorm, and rain in upper and central parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, from May 1 to 4.
The PMD has forecast a westerly wave to reach the upper parts of the country on April 30, and moist currents to penetrate northeast Punjab from May 1. This weather system is expected to bring wind, thunderstorm, and rain to various districts in Punjab, including Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Lahore. The areas expected to be affected include Kashmir, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan, Kurram, and Gilgit-Baltistan from April 30 to May 4.
Dust storms and thunderstorm-related rain are also expected in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Umerkot, Zhob, Khuzdar, Musakhel, and Barkhan from May 2 to 5. The PMD has warned of damage to loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels due to wind-thunderstorm, hailstorm, and lightning. Authorities and residents are advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the impact of the expected weather conditions.
