Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed a third-party audit of the Ramazan Relief Package, which provides Rs5,000 to 4 million deserving families, approximately 20 million people, across the country, and instructed authorities to replicate the digital wallet system for other government schemes.

The package, launched on March 1, has been implemented nationwide without discrimination, including in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. So far, 63% of beneficiaries have received their payments, with complete records of all disbursements. The Prime Minister praised the State Bank of Pakistan, National Database and Registration Authority, and tech institutions for ensuring transparency in the package's disbursement.

Shehbaz also called for a review of the awareness campaign to improve its effectiveness and ordered a comprehensive report. The meeting was attended by federal ministers, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar, and relevant government officials. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to adopt the digital wallet system used for the package for other government-run schemes, citing its efficiency and transparency.

The successful implementation of the Ramazan Relief Package and the expansion of the digital wallet system are expected to have a positive impact on the country's social welfare and economic development. The Prime Minister's emphasis on transparency and accountability is also likely to boost public trust in government initiatives.
