Ramadan 2025 Date Pakistan: Zakat Nisab Set
The Zakat Nisab for 2025 is set at Rs. 179,689, and deductions will be made from eligible accounts on the first day of Ramadan, expected to be March 1 or 2, 2025, with the aim of supporting those in need during the holy month.

The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety has announced the Zakat Nisab for 2025, setting a deduction threshold for bank accounts at Rs179,689, with Zakat to be deducted from saving accounts with a balance of this amount or more on the first day of Ramadan, expected to fall on March 1 or 2, 2025.
This decision aligns with the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance of 1980 and marks an increase of Rs. 44,519 from the previous year's threshold of Rs. 135,179. The Nisab is the minimum amount required for Zakat deductions on savings and other accounts. Current accounts will remain exempt from Zakat deductions.
The Zakat collection and controlling agencies have been instructed to deduct Zakat from savings accounts, profit and loss sharing accounts, and other similar accounts with a credit balance of Rs. 179,689 or more. The first day of Ramadan has been notified as the deduction date for Zakat, and Pakistan's banks will be closed on the first working day of Ramadan to facilitate this process.
The closure of banks on the first working day of Ramadan is a longstanding practice in Pakistan, allowing for the smooth deduction of Zakat. Bank employees will work as usual but won't handle public dealings on this day, ensuring that the Zakat deduction process is carried out efficiently.
