New Classroom Wing to Enhance Learning Experience
The new classrooms are part of a larger effort to improve education infrastructure, with MRDC also managing the Tertiary Education Subsidy Program, supporting 1,176 students in the last three years, and the district's $120 million bond aimed at addressing growing enrollment and providing better facilities for students.

Donna North High School is set to receive a new classroom wing, addressing the growing enrollment of 1,950 students, currently accommodated in portables, with the $15.7 million project expected to be completed in a year, adding 30 classrooms and providing safer and more comfortable spaces for students.
The new wing is part of the district's $120 million bond, and Superintendent Angela Dominguez expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to provide better facilities for students, citing the district's voters' trust in the bond. Students, including senior Victoria Aguillon, are looking forward to the new wing, which will improve their learning environment and overall experience. The current portables pose safety issues and are vulnerable to weather conditions, making the new wing a welcome addition.
Similarly, in Port Moresby, Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) and its subsidiary Gas Resources Plant (GRPNG) have handed over a new double classroom to Redscar High School in Porebada village, built at a cost of K620,000 and completed in two months. MRDC General Manager Reginald Ope commended the leadership of GRPNG for investing in education through the Community Infrastructure Trust Fund, which has delivered over 20 classrooms and 30 teachers' houses in plant site schools since 2017.
The investment in education infrastructure is expected to have a positive impact on the learning experience of students, providing them with safer and more comfortable spaces to thrive in their academic pursuits. With the new classroom wing at Donna North High School and the double classroom at Redscar High School, students can look forward to an enhanced learning environment, setting them up for success in their future endeavors.
