Pakistan Sports Gala Marks Independence Day
The Sports Gala and Independence Day celebrations will bring together people from all over Sindh, promoting national unity and pride, with a range of activities and events that will engage and inspire the youth, and commemorate the country's history and sacrifices.

The Sindh Government's Sports Department is hosting a 7-day Sports Gala in Sukkur from August 8-14, 2025, to commemorate Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq, featuring various sports competitions for youth and athletes.
The event aims to encourage young people to engage in healthy activities and foster national spirit, with competitions including tug-of-war, cricket, football, and indoor games. The closing ceremony on August 14 will feature a musical night with distinguished guests, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The Sindh government has intensified preparations for organizing province-wide events in connection with the "Battle of Truth" campaign and Independence Day on August 14. A high-level meeting was held to ensure that the celebrations are magnificent, unique, and memorable, with discussions on organizing events on a focused yet extensive scale in a centralized and distinctive manner.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that Independence Day events will commence from August 1 and will continue until August 15 or the entire month of August, including Operation Banyan Marsus, branding province-wide, and a grand and central program per district. Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani emphasized the importance of public participation and educating the younger generation about national history.
The celebrations will showcase Pakistan's rich cultural heritage and national spirit, with a focus on patriotism and regional characteristics. The government's efforts to promote sports and healthy activities among youth will also be highlighted, making this year's Independence Day celebrations a unique and memorable experience.
