Pakistani government officials, including Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, celebrated "Yaum-e-Tashakkur" (Thanksgiving Day) to honor the armed forces for their victory over India, marking a significant day in the country's history.

The event, organized by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division, featured a 40-foot-long float, artists performing patriotic songs, and a tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces. The officials praised the military for shattering India's arrogance and uniting the nation, and thanked the people of Pakistan and the armed forces for their bravery and sacrifice. A ceremony was also held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, armed forces' leadership, and other civil and military leaders.

The prime minister praised the martyrs, their families, and the nation for responding to Indian aggression, saying that the day was a rare occasion in world history where the whole nation was united in prayer for the military. He recalled that on May 9-10, he had a meeting with services chiefs, where it was decided to give a measured response to India after it rejected Pakistan's offer of an international investigation. The operation was a response to India's air strikes on Pakistan on May 6-7, which resulted in civilian casualties.

The celebration of Youm-i-Tashakur was a testament to the nation's unity and gratitude towards the armed forces, and it will be remembered by future generations as a moment when Pakistan's soldiers defeated India with courage and resolve. The prime minister's visits to the residence of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf and the Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi also demonstrated the government's commitment to honoring the martyrs and supporting the injured soldiers and civilians.
