Karachi is bracing for a fresh monsoon spell expected to hit the city on July 15, bringing light to moderate rainfall and potential flash flooding, while the weather today in Lahore is expected to be clear, the city administration has directed civic agencies to work together to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater.

The Karachi city administration has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and other civic agencies to work together under the supervision of deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater during rains. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi to review preparations for expected wet weather.

A fresh monsoon spell is expected to hit Karachi on July 15, bringing light to moderate rainfall to the city and other parts of Sindh. The rain is forecast to continue from July 15 to 17, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C and humidity levels at 78%. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a red alert for potential flash flooding in several regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, and other areas, due to expected heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The city administration and relevant agencies are working together to prevent waterlogging on roads and ensure the safety of citizens during the expected rainfall. The public is advised to take necessary precautions and stay tuned to weather updates for the latest information on the monsoon spell.
