Today weather in Karachi brings heavy rainfall and flash floods

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread monsoon rains and strong winds across multiple regions, urging the public to take precautionary measures against potential weather-related hazards. The worst-hit district was Swat, where 13 people lost their lives and 6 were injured due to heavy rains, strong winds, flash floods, and landslides.
The Met Office has issued an urban flooding alert, warning that certain parts of Karachi may experience flash flooding due to intense rainfall. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The NDMA has warned that intense rainfall and above-normal temperatures have increased the likelihood of glacial lake outburst floods (Glof) events in northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Upper Dir, Chitral, and Swat.
