Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to maintain vigil and take strict action against anti-social elements ahead of the upcoming festivals, including Moharram, to ensure law and order, harmony, and public facilities.

The CM emphasized the importance of maintaining inter-state coordination, restricting loud noises, and preventing the display of weapons during the festivals. He also warned against cutting trees, removing slums, or evicting the poor for religious processions and instructed social media monitoring and drone surveillance if needed.

The guidelines include restrictions on the sale of meat along procession routes, as per the Cattle Management Act, and the display of arms and political symbolism during religious processions is unacceptable and should be strictly prohibited. The CM also ordered that sound levels of DJs and music during processions should be within prescribed limits, and there should be no loud or provocative slogans.

The authorities have been directed to be extra cautious in districts bordering neighboring states, particularly during the festivals, and to keep the routes clean and sanitized. The CM stressed the need to monitor social media and prevent the spread of fake news and rumors, and to take action against those spreading caste conflicts and hatred in the state.
