Ramadan: Kashmir Valley Prepares for Holy Month
The government's efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply, regulate market practices, and provide essential services are expected to greatly benefit the people of Kashmir during the holy month, and the administration's preparations are underway to make the month a success.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, has announced that uninterrupted power supply will be provided in the valley during the holy month of Ramadhan, despite inclement weather, the power supply situation remained satisfactory due to the cooperation of the people.
A high-level meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to finalize preparations for the month, and the administration claims that 90 percent of the supply lines are operational, and air and railway transport are running smoothly. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta, reviewed arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan, directing the KPDCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Iftar and Sehri times.
The Jal Shakti department was instructed to provide potable water to the public, and the DC also emphasized the importance of regulating market practices, intensifying joint market checking, and taking penal measures against overpricing and illegal activities. Additionally, the DC stressed the need for sanitation and cleanliness at places of worship and congregation sites, directing the Municipal Council to maintain hygienic conditions and remove encroachments on roads and pavements.
Prominent social and political activist Tawheed Sheikh has urged the government to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for the fasting population during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of essential public services, including market regulation, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, public Iftar arrangements, efficient medical aid, and waste management.
The government has been urged to take immediate steps to ensure that the public has access to essential services during the holy month, and the administration is working to provide a comfortable and peaceful experience for the people of Kashmir during Ramadan.
