India News: Terror Infrastructure Remains Intact in Pakistan

Pakistani terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK remains fully intact, with main training camps and launch pads along the Line of Control (LoC) still in place, senior Army officers said after a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam. The attack, which killed 26 tourists, was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba, and was reportedly in response to India issuing domicile certificates to non-locals in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack comes amid Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir's comments that Kashmir was Islamabad's "jugular vein", which were rubbished by the Indian Army. Despite the Indian Army's efforts to foil infiltration bids, 144 terrorists were killed in J&K in the last two years, and terror outfits were looking for a big strike to mark their presence. Ten infiltration bids were foiled along LoC last year, in which 25 terrorists were killed.
India has consistently shown a strong response to terrorist attacks, sending a message to terror outfits and their sponsors that there will be consequences for such acts. This has been demonstrated through covert intelligence missions, surgical strikes, and airpower, with the country opting for a proactive approach rather than just reacting. Key instances of India's retaliation include the 2016 Uri attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack, which were responded to with surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and a precision airstrike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp in Balakot.
