India and Pakistan are on high alert amid escalating tensions, with multiple Indian border states, including Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, implementing heightened security measures in response to recent terror attacks and airstrikes on terror sites in Pakistan and PoK.

The Indian airstrikes, which targeted nine terror sites, were a response to a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack has led to increased security concerns, with authorities in Rawalpindi ordering a complete blackout in all private housing societies from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am until further notice. The blackout includes turning off all street lights, exterior lights, and minimizing indoor lighting, with residents instructed to cover windows completely and refrain from unnecessary travel during blackout hours.

In India, the Amritsar administration conducted a mock drill to check security preparedness, which was followed by a blackout process in the early hours of Thursday. The district public relations officer (DPRO) said the blackout was a precautionary measure, asking residents to stay indoors and keep their lights off. The drill was part of a nationwide civil defence exercise, which included mock scenarios of air raids, fire emergencies, and search and rescue operations.

Gurdaspur in Punjab has declared a complete blackout from 9pm, while a Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the BSF in Punjab's Ferozepur sector. The heightened security measures and blackouts are a response to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, with both countries on high alert. The situation remains volatile, with authorities urging residents to remain vigilant and follow all necessary precautions.

As the situation continues to unfold, residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed and follow all instructions from local authorities to ensure their safety. The Indian government has assured citizens that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure their security and well-being.
