Madinah Hosts 4,000 Itikaf Observers on 27th Night of Ramadan

With the 27th night of Ramadan underway, itikaf observers in Madinah are being provided with comprehensive services and guidelines to support their spiritual journey, while authorities are working to ensure a smooth and safe conclusion to the holy month, with a focus on sustainability and public health.

Itikaf observers from 120 countries are currently staying in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, where they have access to 12 key services, including daily meals, water, and medical services, as they dedicate their time to prayer and worship during the holy month of Ramadan.

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has issued guidelines for itikaf observers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining tranquility and following health guidelines. Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Health has provided over 65,000 health services for worshippers during Ramadan, including emergency medical assistance and surgeries.

In related news, the Supreme Court has called on Muslims to sight the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday evening, which marks the end of Ramadan. The Deputy Emir of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mishaal, chaired a meeting of the Central Hajj Committee to review plans for the remaining days of Ramadan, including the Khatm Al-Qur'an on the 29th night at the Grand Mosque.

As the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, the Saudi government and religious authorities are working together to ensure a safe and successful conclusion to the festivities, with a focus on environmental sustainability and public health. The Saudi Green Initiative, launched in 2023, aims to promote sustainability and increase environmental awareness, with over 85 environmental protection and green development programs initiated.
