Iftar Time Hyderabad: Ramadan Begins March 2
The holy month of Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion, with Muslims seeking to strengthen their faith and connection with God through fasting, prayer, and good deeds, and the iftar time in Hyderabad and other cities will be an essential part of this experience.

Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims, begins on March 2 in Pakistan, as announced by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, after the committee failed to sight the new moon, while Saudi Arabia and its Gulf neighbours started observing the holy month on March 1.
The start of Ramadan marks a significant period for nearly 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide, as it is believed to be the time when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad over 1,400 years ago. Fasting, one of the five pillars of Islam, requires believers to abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and sex during daylight hours. Muslims greet each other with traditional phrases such as "Ramadan Mubarak" and "Ramadan Kareem", which translate to "blessed Ramadan" and "generous Ramadan".
The decision to start Ramadan on March 2 in Pakistan was made after the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that the moon would not be visible on February 28. In contrast, Saudi Arabia and most Sunni-ruled Middle Eastern states began observing the holy month on March 1, while Iran and Iraq will start on March 3. The varying start dates are due to the traditional method of sighting the crescent moon to mark the beginning of the month-long fasting period.
As Muslims in Pakistan and around the world begin their fasting period, they will come together to break their fasts, known as iftar, with family and friends, and engage in acts of charity and worship, observing one of the most important periods in the Islamic calendar.
