The General Authority of Affairs of the Holy Mosque in Saudi Arabia has introduced a new service for pilgrims visiting the Holy Mosque during Ramadan, allowing them to cut their hair or shave their heads after performing Umrah through mobile carts at five locations near the Marwa area.

The service, called "Fak el ehram", aims to streamline and improve the overall experience for pilgrims. The carts will be equipped with sterilized equipment and will move according to the crowd size at the mosque. This move is part of efforts to enhance pilgrim services and provide a more convenient experience for thousands of worshippers expected to participate in Itikaf, a spiritual retreat observed in the last ten days of Ramadan.

Registration for Itikaf at Makkah and Madinah grand mosques will begin on March 5 at 11 am on the authority's website. Permits will be issued online following specific conditions and criteria. The practice of Itikaf allows participants to engage in worship free from daily distractions, often eating and sleeping within the mosque premises, following the example of Prophet Mohammed.

The introduction of these new services demonstrates the General Authority's commitment to providing a comfortable and spiritual experience for pilgrims visiting the Holy Mosque during Ramadan. With the launch of these services, pilgrims can now focus on their spiritual journey, free from logistical concerns.
