Sui Gas Crisis Hits Karachi During Ramadan
As Ramadan continues, the Sui gas crisis in Karachi persists, with residents facing difficulties due to the lack of gas supply, and the SSGC's failure to provide uninterrupted supply during Sehri and Iftar times, despite the commissioner's directives.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has directed K-Electric and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited to ensure uninterrupted electricity and gas supply during Sehri and Iftar times in Ramadan, but the SSGC has failed to deliver on its promise, leaving many households without gas.
The SSGC had announced a new schedule for gas supply during Ramazan, but it failed to ensure uninterrupted supply during the notified hours, forcing residents to rely on expensive LPG cylinders. The company's spokesman said a meeting was held to discuss ways to improve gas supply, but the situation remains dire, with areas including Keamari, Kharadar, Saddar, and Gulberg experiencing no gas supply.
In contrast, Lahore residents are provided with a structured gas supply schedule, with gas available from 2:30 AM to 8:00 AM for Sehri and 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM for Iftari. 100 monitoring committees have been formed to maintain gas flow in Lahore, highlighting the disparity in gas supply management between the two cities.
The gas crisis in Karachi has sparked widespread criticism on social media, with residents calling out the SSGC for its failure to deliver on its promises. The company must take immediate action to address the issue and ensure that citizens can perform their religious duties and prepare meals without inconvenience.
