Severe Weather Lahore: Heavy Rains Predicted
The severe weather lahore forecast has raised concerns about the potential impact on the city's infrastructure and residents. With the monsoon season expected to bring heavy rainfall, it is essential for residents to be prepared and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. The government's efforts to enhance preparations and improve drainage systems are crucial in mitigating the effects of the severe weather.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide alert for moderate to heavy rainfall across most parts of Pakistan, including Lahore, over the next three days, warning of flash floods, urban flooding, and increased risk of land and mudslides. The forecast predicts widespread rainfall fueled by moisture inflows from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
The NDMA has identified several districts as vulnerable, including those in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, advising residents to remain alert for potential landslides and disruptions to traffic. The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) of the NDMA has issued a weather alert warning of moderate to heavy monsoon rains affecting multiple regions of Pakistan from July 13 to 15.
In addition to the weather alert, the NDMA has also warned of localized flash flooding in river networks of southern Balochistan districts, including Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela, and Qalat. The Tarbela Dam is at 74% storage capacity, and Mangla Dam is at 44% capacity. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has convened a high-level meeting to review and enhance preparations for the upcoming monsoon rains.
As the weather lahore situation continues to unfold, residents are advised to take precautionary measures, including staying vigilant for sudden surges in water levels, securing household items, and preparing emergency kits. The government has activated all concerned departments and organisations to improve drainage systems and pumping stations, ensuring they are operational ahead of the monsoon season.
