Naran Kaghan Road Closure for Expansion
Travelers are advised to plan alternative routes and check for updates before embarking on their journeys, as the closure is expected to have a significant impact on traffic flow in the region, and the new steel bridge will provide a safer and more efficient passage for tourists and locals alike.

The Kaghan to Naran road in Mansehra will be closed from June 14 to June 17 for all traffic due to a flyover expansion, with tourists in Naran asked to leave by 5:00 PM on June 14 and travelers advised to use the Karakoram Highway as an alternative route.
The road closure is between Mansehra and the Mahandari Bridge, where construction teams are widening the road and implementing safety improvements to ensure public safety. The district administrations of Mansehra and Diamer have advised tourists to postpone travel plans to Naran, Kaghan, and Gilgit-Baltistan during these four days and to use the Karakoram Highway via the Bisham route instead.
Local officials have appealed for public cooperation and patience during this short-term inconvenience, citing the need to support efficient progress on the construction work. The installation of a new steel bridge in the Mahandri area of Kaghan valley is also underway, which will replace the bridge swept away in last year's flash floods with a 33-foot-wide structure to accommodate the increasing influx of tourists during the summer season.
The closure will affect travel to Gilgit-Baltistan via the MNJ Road, but Shogran will remain accessible, and enhanced security measures have been deployed in the valley with additional personnel to ensure safe and efficient travel. The district administration has announced that the road will be reopened after the completion of the construction work, and tourists can plan their trips accordingly.
