Karak Highway Tragedy: Brake Failure Causes Devastating Accident
At least 12 people have lost their lives, and 13 others injured in a devastating accident on the Indus Highway in Karak, caused by a trailer's brake failure, with relief efforts currently underway to assist those affected.

A horrific accident occurred on the Indus Highway near Ambiri Kallay chowk in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when a trailer's brake failure resulted in a catastrophic collision with multiple vehicles, including a bus, leaving at least 12 people dead and 13 injured.
The incident happened when the trailer, driven by Samiullah from Lakki Marwat district, lost control due to brake failure and ran over several vehicles, causing widespread damage and loss of life. The driver, who was also injured in the accident, has been arrested and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The main highway has been reopened, and relief efforts are currently underway to assist those affected by the tragedy.
K-P Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has taken notice of the incident and directed the health department to provide assistance to the injured. Red Crescent teams have also been dispatched to conduct relief activities. The accident has sent shockwaves through the community, with emergency services rushing to the scene to provide first aid to the injured before shifting them to the District Headquarters Hospital, Karak, where some of the injured succumbed to their wounds.
