Heavy rain in Islamabad and Murree has caused disruptions to routine life and traffic flow, with landslides occurring near Salgirah and other areas, though no loss of life has been reported. The Meteorological Department recorded over 50mm of rain in Murree in the last 24 hours, leading to the landslides.

Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zahir Abbas Shirazi, was injured during a landslide relief operation at Salgran, sustaining a minor foot injury from a falling rock. Despite the injury, Shirazi emphasized the importance of prioritizing public safety, urging local administration and allied departments to remain prepared for any situation during such operations. A command post and medical camp were set up at Salgran to provide assistance and share safety tips.

A landslide on the Grand Trunk (GT) Road near Salkharan in Murree caused a partial collapse of the roadway, disrupting traffic and raising safety concerns. The incident was triggered by heavy monsoon rains, and a main portion of the road caved in, leaving the route partially impassable. The Deputy Commissioner of Murree issued an advisory, urging people to use the Expressway as an alternative route. Rescue 1122 personnel and traffic authorities are on the scene to manage the situation.

The district administration has advised tourists to use the Expressway and follow instructions from the administration and traffic police. The road at Salgran remained closed until the landslide debris was cleared, and efforts are being made to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
