The Defence Ministry has advised media outlets to refrain from live coverage of defence operations, citing risks to operational effectiveness and personnel safety, as tensions escalate with Pakistan and Sonakshi Sinha speaks out against sensationalized reporting.

The advisory references past incidents like the Kargil War and Mumbai attacks, emphasizing the importance of responsible reporting during sensitive times. The directive follows escalating hostilities with Pakistan and Operation Sindoor, India's retaliation for a recent terror attack. The Ministry warns that premature disclosure of sensitive information could compromise operational effectiveness and endanger lives.

Sonakshi Sinha has expressed frustration over the sensationalization of the India-Pakistan conflict on news channels, urging people to find a reliable source and not panic. She posted on Instagram that she's praying for the armed forces, the country, and the innocent who have fallen or will fall in the conflict. Sinha criticized the over-dramatized visuals and sound effects on news channels, calling them a "joke" and urging them to report facts as they are.

Several other celebrities, including Virat Kohli, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kangana Ranaut, have lauded the Indian Armed Forces and urged people to stay calm during the conflict. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had earlier issued a similar directive, reminding media platforms and individuals of their legal and moral responsibilities. Only periodic briefings by designated officials are allowed during anti-terror operations, in accordance with existing rules.

As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the media will respond to the advisory and whether responsible reporting will prevail. The call for calm and responsible reporting has been echoed by several celebrities, including Sonakshi Sinha, who are urging people to rely on verified sources of information and avoid panic.
