Indian celebrities, including Tejasswi Prakash and Sonakshi Sinha, have spoken out against Indian news channels for spreading misinformation and sensationalizing the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict, calling for responsible and factual reporting. The criticism comes after a series of outlandish claims were made on live TV, including the destruction of Karachi port and the levelling of Islamabad, which were later found to be false.

The Indian government has also taken notice of the issue, with Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw meeting with editors to emphasize the importance of responsible reporting, especially in the context of defense operations and security forces movements. The Minister advised electronic media to refrain from live coverage or real-time reporting of such operations, citing risks to national security and operational secrecy.

Tejasswi Prakash, along with other celebrities, including Dhruv Rathee, has accused Indian news channels of spreading scripted propaganda and urged Indians to find reliable news sources and avoid watching fake news channels. The criticism highlights the need for credible and trustworthy reporting, especially during times of conflict and geopolitical tensions.

As the situation between India and Pakistan continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the media will respond to the criticism and the government's advisory, and whether they will prioritize factual and responsible reporting over sensationalism and theatrics.
