Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather for the next three days, with temperatures ranging between 35-39°C and high humidity levels, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Met Office has predicted that the maximum temperature on Tuesday, May 6, will be between 37-39°C, with a minimum temperature of 27.5°C. The humidity levels will be high, with morning humidity at 49% and evening humidity between 45-55%. Winds will shift from northeast to south/southwest by evening, bringing little relief from the heat.
Medical experts have warned of a sharp rise in kidney infection cases due to the heat and dehydration, advising citizens to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and remain indoors unless necessary. The hot weather is expected to persist on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures between 36-38°C and 35-37°C, respectively.
In other parts of the country, isolated dust-thunderstorms and light rain are expected in surrounding districts, including Jamshoro, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, and Sujawal. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi and Islamabad experienced rain on Sunday, bringing a pleasant change in the weather, and the Met Office has predicted more rain in the next 24 hours.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning for potential landslides in Murree and Galyat due to forecasted rainy and stormy weather, and citizens are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on weather conditions.
