The Kuwaiti government has declared that all state bodies and public institutions will be closed from June 5 to June 9 to observe the Eid al-Adha holiday, with government employees returning to work on June 10, and unconventional workplaces having flexibility in setting their own holiday schedules.

Eid al-Adha, a significant Islamic holiday, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Isma'il and involves a special prayer, Qurbani (animal sacrifice), charity, and family gatherings. The celebration emphasizes faith, community, generosity, and gratitude, coinciding with the Hajj pilgrimage, a key aspect of Islam.

The exact dates of Eid al-Adha will be confirmed after the moon is sighted by committees in various countries, including Saudi Arabia's moon-sighting committee. According to astronomical predictions, the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah is expected to be visible on the morning of Tuesday, May 27, which would mark the first day of Dhul Hijjah on Wednesday, May 28, and Eid al-Adha would fall on Friday, June 6.

The Kuwaiti government's announcement of Eid al-Adha holidays from June 5-8, 2025, with a day of rest on June 9 and work resuming on June 10, allows citizens to observe this significant Islamic holiday and participate in its traditions and celebrations.
