Eid ul Fitr 2025 in Pakistan: New Currency Notes Available
The SBP's move to provide new currency notes for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 will enable people to celebrate the occasion with ease, and the measures in place will ensure that the distribution of new notes is fair and efficient, allowing everyone to participate in the traditional festivities with joy and enthusiasm.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has denied reports that new currency notes will not be issued for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, confirming that commercial banks will continue to distribute new banknotes through their branches, with the central bank providing Rs 27 billion worth of notes in all denominations to 17,000 branches.
To ensure the smooth distribution of new currency notes, the SBP has deployed cash monitoring teams to conduct onsite inspections at commercial bank branches. Additionally, arrangements have been made to provide high-quality banknotes through ATMs during the festive season. As Eidul Fitr 2025 approaches, people are seeking new currency notes to distribute as Eidi, and customers can visit their bank with a copy of their CNIC to request new notes.
The allocation of new currency notes is determined by the SBP, and commercial banks have no authority to object to the allocation. Each branch receives a fixed number of bundles, typically including Rs 10, Rs 100, Rs 20, and Rs 50 notes. To ensure equitable distribution, most banks limit issuance to Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,000 per customer, as the limited stock of new notes depletes rapidly, often within days of arrival.
With the SBP's efforts to ensure the availability of new currency notes, the public can expect a hassle-free experience in obtaining fresh banknotes for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. The central bank's measures to monitor and distribute new notes will help maintain the integrity of the currency and facilitate the traditional practice of exchanging Eidi during the festive season.
